Frequently Asked Questions
What homes do you cover?
We collect data from Danish dormitories and student housing providers. In addition, private landlords can freely create rooms and apartments directly on the platform. We cover all of Denmark – from Copenhagen and Aarhus to Odense, Aalborg and smaller student cities.
Is MinUngdomsbolig free?
Yes. Search and profile are free. Optional premium features can be purchased for extra access to contact information and priority notifications.
How do you verify listings?
We check contact information, image quality and behavior patterns. Suspicious listings are rejected or require extra documentation. Verified listings are marked with a badge.
Can I upload my own home?
Yes! Click "Upload home". We help with text, images and approval – with no commitment. You can pause your listing or edit it at any time.
What is the difference between a dormitory and student housing?
A dormitory typically has shared facilities such as kitchen and bathroom, while student housing is an independent apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom. Student housing is generally newer and more expensive. Both usually require enrollment in an education program.
Can you get housing benefit for youth housing?
Most dormitories and student housing in Denmark are approved for housing benefit. You can apply for housing benefit via borger.dk once you have signed a lease. The amount of housing benefit depends on rent, home size and your income.
How long does it take to find a home?
It varies a lot. In Copenhagen, the waiting time can be 6-24 months for dormitories, while smaller cities may have shorter waiting times. We recommend searching broadly, signing up for several waiting lists, and creating a housing agent for instant notifications.
What does it cost to advertise your home?
It is free to create and publish a listing on MinUngdomsbolig. We earn money from premium features for housing seekers, not from landlords.
Do you only cover Copenhagen?
No, we cover all of Denmark. You can find dormitories and student housing in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg, Roskilde, Lyngby and many other cities. Use our search function to filter by city.
How do I create a housing agent?
Click the 'Housing Agent' button at the bottom of the page. Enter your email, choose your preferred cities and price range, and we will notify you when new homes match your criteria.
